Each year, NSCAP distributes gift bags to our most needy senior consumers. Historically, we have been able to deliver approximately 60 gifts! However, we service nearly 150 consumers per week! At least 90%, of which, are income eligible for public benefits and many with little to no family who would otherwise be in a long term nursing facility, if not for the in-home services our program is able to provide. Every gift and donation is so very much appreciated! Below is a list of what is needed:
Body Wash/Moisturizer/Soap/Chap stick
Face cloths/bath puff/hand towels
Dish towels.
Pajamas/Robes
Warm gloves, hats, scarves
Slippers/socks with grips
Puzzle Books/ Word Puzzle Books (large print)
Cans of soup (Low Sodium), tea, sugar free snacks, etc.
Gift certificates to grocery stores/pharmacies
Small flashlights with batteries included
Medium sized gift bags and tissue paper
Diabetic specific powder and or lotion
Lap blanket or shawl
Battery operated candles
Calendars
Note cards with envelopes/ large grip pens
Cash & Gift Card donations are welcomed and will be used to buy items that are not donated.
PLEASE NO FLAMED CANDLES or BLADED RAZORS
These are only suggestions. Please donate items you feel would be enjoyed by an elder with limited means.
If you know someone who works at a store, bank, etc. please contact them. Many companies donate over stock of promotional items such as pens, calendars, bags, etc. I can provide them with a “Donation Receipt” for tax purposes.
